Ruthless and Ongoing

Sometimes near bedtime my granny calls me from her senior living community drunk as a skunk. She is 82 years old and wears pearls and went to Harvard, she reminds me each time. She can be drunk if she wants to.

{Pearls and tea roses for Granny}

And she talks and talks, and goes on and on, and usually only about 20 percent of what she says makes any sense at all, but last night on one of these drunken rampages she says to me: "You are a young person; you need to do what you want  more instead of feeling obligated all of the time."

And then she said, "Can you drive us to the mall tomorrow?"
