I'm a foul- mouthed blogger who loves my community, eating pickles in the sunshine, and purty clothes. I research patterns of information in gentrifying communities and want to be a singer when I grow up. Desperate for the South, I'm up North because I fell in love: first with a community (Harlem) and later with a farm share co-op and its corresponding hippies in my Philly community.
In 2011, I learned of my increased risk for breast cancer, and chose surveillance for a year before undergoing a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy in January of 2012. I write about the journey here, which is ongoing.
